ABSTRACT
We are familiar with light. Our experiences have taught us what its effects will be under most circumstances. We can think of light in a simple way, considering only its common effects such as refraction or color dispersion. Many sophisticated optical designs that are useful for displays and imaging devices can be derived from this approach.
