ABSTRACT

Nothing in law enforcement will get you deeper in alligators more quickly than a ˆnancial investigation that’s humming along. Financial cases can produce huge quantities of evidence, and each new batch that comes in generates more leads. Many criminal investigations may suffer for lack of evidence, but ˆnancial investigators are often overwhelmed by the sheer volume of material that comes their way. Just managing all this material becomes a major priority. To help us appreciate the importance of effective evidence management, let’s return to the Capone investigation, a prime example of how massive such a project can be.
