ABSTRACT

When discussing macrofouling impacts, the macrofoulers can be grouped into two basic groups: those that attach to surfaces using byssal threads and those that do not.

The impacts caused by all dreissenids and mytillids are very similar. They have free living larval stages that will penetrate most strainers and lters and an adult stage that is rmly attached to the substrate.
