ABSTRACT
I double gowned, double gloved, and double masked. I did the autopsy solo without any assistance, as I did not know how to protect an assistant. ‡e tissues removed at autopsy were put into formalin and the jar sealed. Instead of histology I made slide imprints of the organs and stained them myself. I was able to document the presence of acute infection in the lungs and bronchi while there was exclusion of the infection from the brain and other organs of the body. Using self-performed cytology saved us an entire episode of supersurveillance in the upstairs histology lab.
