ABSTRACT
Most questions you might want XAFS to answer can be put into one of two categories: either you want to know what materials are in your sample (speciation), or you’d like to know specic characteristics of the substances in your sample (characterization). Table 2.1 gives examples of speciation questions, and Table 2.2 gives examples of characterization questions.
