ABSTRACT

We have made quite a journey through the world of physics, and gained a substantial amount of knowledge along the way. At the end of each part you saw a summary of what the part taught us. This part of the book assembles these teachings and talks about the nature of science from a physicist’s perspective. There has been a lot of discussion about this topic recently, and a number of “theories” have been proposed as to “what science is” and how it works. Our experience with the physical ideas and methodology exposed throughout the book should have given us enough background to draw our own conclusion about “what science is and how it works,” the subject of this part of the book. But before doing that, let’s dispel some misconceptions about science.
