ABSTRACT
The biosafety level 4 (BSL4) laboratory is designed for work with exotic and dangerous agents, offering the scientists working with such agents and the environment where the laboratory is located the highest possible level of protection. The scientists and environment are protected by extensive engineering controls and workplace practices, which include multiple levels of redundancy. There are two types of BSL4 laboratories: the cabinet laboratory and the suit laboratory. This chapter will focuses solely on the suit laboratory where individuals wear positive pressure suits when inside the BSL4 laboratory.
