ABSTRACT

About a third of the way through the 1/5 scale mock-up process, Ken had pulled out a team to begin work on the information and material flow processes. These would include the manner by which the line would be scheduled, how the subassembly or feeder lines would know what to make and when to make it, how purchased items would be replenished from outside vendors, and how the purchased parts and materials would be delivered to the various points in the production line. These processes were as important as the product flow process that the rest of the team continued to work on.
