ABSTRACT

Waves represent one of the most common types of fluid motion: sea waves on water surface, internal waves in stratified oceans and atmospheres (often seen in cloud patterns), inertial waves in rotating fluids, Rossby waves of planetary scales important for the weather and climate dynamics, sound waves in air and many more important examples.
