ABSTRACT
Introduction In Chapter 4, the sociological approaches to understanding violence were discussed. In this chapter, the psychological approaches are examined. –e key dižerence between the two approaches is that the sociological approach looks at groups of people, whereas the psychological approach focuses on causes within the individual. Included within the microlevel approaches are those causes based on the biological makeup or nature of the individual; the biological aspects are examined in Chapter 6.
