ABSTRACT
Urban drainage systems are typically considered to include all aspects of surface water collection, storage and conveyance that together manage stormwater in the urban area.
Conventional urban drainage systems aim to collect and transfer surface water runoff and foul sewage to a location remote from the point of origin. These systems have developed to deal with flooding and, in combination with sanitary drainage, public health and more recently to protect the natural environment.
