ABSTRACT

At the core of pharmacy is knowledge. Various study commissions in pharmacy have confirmed this by stating that pharmacy is a knowledgebased profession. The knowledge starts with study, and study starts in pharmacy school. It continues, if one wishes, into graduate studies or a residency or fellowship training. Being a pharmacist also includes a commitment to

lifelong learning

. This means pharmacists must continually keep up with the latest developments in drug therapy, changes in pharmacy laws, and changes in the profession.
