ABSTRACT

Proposal writing is a learned art. The grant proposal is a persuasive presentation for the receipt of resources.2 It is also a marketing tool. A good proposal presents what the researcher intends to do and provides an image to any prospective funder. This is a highly competitive process. Accordingly, the proposal writer must learn not to take rejection personally. Almost half the proposals for grants received by most funding agencies are resubmissions. If a proposal is rejected, rewrite and resubmit at a later evaluation period or to a different agency. If you believe that your project is worthwhile, be persistent.
