Why Practice? Outpatient employees must be at the top of their game. ’ey do not have hospital code teams that arrive to take over during an emergency event. In many cases there are fewer than a half dozen employees on site. ’erefore, practicing for the worst possible outcome is clearly one way to ensure that patients receive the best care possible in this setting. Creating and using well-defined checklists that walk a user through the steps should things go wrong are needed across the board. Augment that with exercises and drills to practice and role play life-threatening and safety disaster response.
