Case study Samsung Austin Semiconductor employs 1000 people and provides services and products to the electronics industry. Prior to receiving its ISO 14001 registration, the company had an ill-defined waste reduction or minimization program. Moreover, there was no formalized environmental management system (EMS) to implement its existing and planned environmental processes.1
