ABSTRACT
Case study As a diplomatic means of courting Egypt, the Soviet Union provided funding and technical expertise for constructing the Aswan Dam. Work began in 1958. On its completion, the mighty Aswan High Dam spanned a length of 3830 m and a height of 111 m.
