ABSTRACT
Case study: Dirty Thirties For aeons, rocks and soils have eroded off the Rocky Mountains and deposited as a fine dust onto the Great Plains of the United States. The Great Plains experienced countless droughts over the geological millennia. However, over time, drought-resistant prairie grass established itself, securing the soil and preventing it from being swept into the air during droughts.
