ABSTRACT

Research is important for discovery, learning, and the development of new and efcient practices. While some advances such as the discovery of penicillin, polycarbonates, and cellophane have resulted serendipitously, most discoveries are made using a methodical experimental approach in which treatments are devised and tested in controlled conditions. During these experiments, data are gathered and evaluated using statistical analysis to evaluate the effectiveness of each treatment at correcting the problem.
