ABSTRACT

Such a system of rules would certainly allow for a sufficient number of parameters so that it could definitely give some realistic simulations, under some circumstances. The real challenge is to determine the minimal set of information which is sufficient. Our aim is to produce the very simplest model of the agent behaviour which is also sufficient to explain the complex collective behaviour observed in nature. As it turns out, a rather rich variety of behaviour can be observed with only the very simplest of all rules. We describe this in the next section.
