ABSTRACT
The ability to accurately collect measurements is a crucial skill in crime scene investigation. Collecting incorrect or inaccurate measurements can affect the evidentiary value of scene diagrams and result in erroneous conclusions from shooting incident reconstructions, crime scene reconstructions, and bloodstain pattern analysis. Investigators must be able to use English and metric rulers, each of which is based on very different measurement systems.
