ABSTRACT

The POIPAT is made up of a series of questions that are relevant to the investigation. It is premised on the idea that when a POI is identified, these are questions that an investigator would ask to determine how likely it is that a particular subject is the person responsible for the offence(s). Those questions might include the subject’s availability to commit the offence(s), his motivation, his criminal history and his sexually deviant practices (if the case is a sex related offence).
