ABSTRACT
This chapter reviews the underlying physical principles and design and operation as well as the capabilities and limitations of SPECT and PET scanners used clinically and preclinically for in vivo radionuclide imaging. SPECT and PET radiotracers are also briefly reviewed and illustrative applications presented.
