ABSTRACT

A general modeling framework for cost/benet analysis of remanufacturing is presentedinthischapter.Thismodelconsistsofthreephases:takeback,disassemblyandreassembly,andresale.Therstphaseconsiderstheprocessofbuyingback theusedproductfromthecustomers;thesecondphasefocusesonmodelingthe disassemblyofthetakenbackproductintoitscoresandreassemblyoftherecovered cores into the remanufactured product; and the last phase models marketing of the remanufacturedproduct.Thesethreephasesaremodeledseparatelyusingthetransfer pricing mechanism.
