ABSTRACT

With incentive of lowering production costs, along with concerns in environmental issues,possibilitiesofproductrecoveryandreusearefocusesofmostmanufacturers today.“Green”manufacturingincludesallthepracticesrangingfromwastepaper andscrapmetalrecycling,reuseofcontainers,to,morerecently,recoveryofelectroniccomponents,etc.TheXeroxGreenWorldAlliancereportsthatmorethan 90%, 25%, and 100%, respectively, of remanufactured print cartridges, new toners, andplasticpartshavebeenmadefromremanufacturingandrecycling.Thisprogram has lead to signicant environmental and nancial benets for Xerox (Xerox 2005).
