Opinion Evidence
Non-expert opinion evidence may be admitted on:
identification of persons, objects, handwriting;
apparent age or emotional state;
condition or value of objects;
estimates of speed or distance.
Expert opinion evidence
Admissible to furnish information outside the knowledge and experience of the court or jury provided:
the expert is suitably qualified; and
the expert is not asked to testify as to the ‘ultimate issue’.
