The subjunctive

The subjunctive is an important feature of Spanish in all styles and countries, and it will not die out in the foreseeable future. It occurs most often in clauses preceded by que, cuando, en cuanto and after other subordinating conjunctions (see Glossary), and also in imperatives of the type diga, no digas.
