ABSTRACT
This chapter looks at how we deal with frequencies and with larger sets of data and, in particular, with the properties and use of the normal distribution. Subsequent work on statistical significance all leans heavily on the assumption of an underlying normal distribution for our variables so that we can make use of known properties to estimate the likelihood of differences and correlations occurring.
