ABSTRACT
The plaintiff (modern term claimant) and his mother bought a house in 1949 to provide a mutual home. The son provided most of the purchase money and took the conveyance in his name. After the son married in 1953 his mother became unwelcome but refused to leave. The son brought possession proceedings claiming she was a mere licensee but the trial judge held that she was an equitable tenant in common.
