ABSTRACT
Information sharing in technological systems occurs across a network of connections that both provide the conduits along which data are shipped and which also often dictate message structure. The different communication channels and services introduced in Chapter 18 are all built on top of such networks. Indeed, networks underpin all the information systems that we find in healthcare and provide the connections that allow patient information to move among locations.
