1890-1892: H. syndactylus, H. agilis). • Notes: There is usually no distinct median raphe of the mylohyoideus in

hylobatids, according to Saban (1968). However, Dubrul (1958) did describe a median raphe in H. lar. Wall et al. (1994) stated that stimulation of the mylohyoideus in H. lar elicited slight hyoid elevation and tongue protrusion.
