ABSTRACT
The remaining eight chapters of our study deal with heat transfer. The quantity, heat, was defined in earlier chapters and it was quantitatively related to work and system behavior through the first law of thermodynamics in Chapter 5. The first law remains a fundamental precept as we now devote our attention to the rate of heat exchange.
