ABSTRACT
A wide variety of engineering applications involve heat transfer by conduction. Unlike convection that pertains to energy transport due to fluid motion and radiation that can propagate in a perfect vacuum, conduction requires the presence of an intervening medium. The medium can either be a solid or a stationary fluid.
