ABSTRACT
Many human activities in our industrialized society produce the unpleasant byproduct of pollution. This chapter covers the types and sources of air pollution, water pollution, and hazardous waste, and the role of toxicology in investigating and identifying the potential effects of pollution on human health and ecosystem function.
