ABSTRACT
Cancer is not a single disease, but rather a general term referring to many kinds of malignant growths that invade adjoining tissues and sometimes spread to distant tissues. Carcinomas are cancers of epithelial tissue, whereas sarcomas are cancers of supporting tissues (such as connective or muscle tissues).
