Experiment 1. Effect of the Propagation Environment on Lily Bulblet Formation and Growth
MATERIALS
The following items will be sufcient for individual students or teams:
• One healthy lily bulb (Figure 29.1a) • Clean potting medium • Sphagnum peat:perlite:vermiculite (2:1:1, by vol-
ume) with nutrients and wetting agent provides a suitable environment for bulblet formation. Commercially available mixes or handmade blends work well if there is a good wettability of the medium.
