ABSTRACT

At the onset it should be noted that the two editions of Feedback Control System Analysis and Synthesis by J. J. D’Azzo and C. H. Houpis [1] became the foundation of the prior five editions of this text. During its first year, 1960, this textbook became an international best seller with seven printings. Eventually it was translated into Portuguese, Spanish, and Chinese. Thus, it can be stated that this 6th edition, in reality, is the “8th edition,” and it has, after 52 years in use, become a “classic” in its own right continuing to lay the foundation of control theory for the control engineers of the twenty-first century.
