ABSTRACT

In 2001, Armstrong Service performed an audit in a large food processing plant. The audit focused on steam and hot water systems improvements, as well as their monitoring, control and sustainability of improvement results.Additional to the instrumentation and meters installed to collect data on critical points for each individual project, a web-enabled monitoring and reporting energy optimization system (EOS) was installed. It made the process of data acquisition, monitoring, recording, trending, reporting, and control possible not only for the plant operation and maintenance personnel, but also accessible from a standard web browser for a control and management perspective.
