ABSTRACT
Heat pipes have been known to be effective heat transfer devices for over 70 years. They have been widely employed in both commercial and industrial applications. This entry addresses various heat pipe applications in many disparate areas, such as aerospace, medicine, agriculture, transportation, and the automotive industry. Examples in the application of heat pipe technology are given in heat recovery, in electronic components, in medical devices, in ovens and furnaces, and in solar thermal applications.
