In the previous chapter, we discussed the waterfall model, which had an enormous influence on the discipline of software engineering, although it did not deal with requirements volatility and did not fit well with the practical experience of most software projects. ‰is chapter explains another model, called the staged

model, that reflects the iterative paradigm and fits better with the actual experience of software engineers. ‰e “Further Reading and Topics” section lists several additional models.
