ABSTRACT

Most PMs do not awake and decide to be an ineffective and/or unorganized PM or team member. Generally, team members and PMs intend to do well with respect to their professional positions (Shetach 2010). Different tools that help a PM and project team be organized will maximize the team performance in terms of efficiency. Chaordic systems thinking is defined as something that is both orderly and chaotic at the same time (van Eijnatten 2004, 431; Bourne and Walker 2005). Therefore, situations to include even those that are chaotic often have an underlying logic to them even if it takes reflection to see the logic. Many researchers have examined chaordic systems thinking, suggesting that to be a good leader, one must not rely on control and inflexible processes but take on a role more of path finding (Backström 2004; Bourne and Walker 2005; Jensen 2004; van Eijnatten 2004). Therefore, let our path finding begin so that we conquer our project effectively. With this mindset, we need to discuss different tools to help guide us through the chaos so that our journey through managing a project is successful.
