ABSTRACT

The anterolateral thigh ap (ALTF) was originally described by Song in 1984 as a septocutaneous ap based on the descending branch of the lateral circumex femoral artery (LCFA) [1]. Conversely to its rst report, it was later determined that the ap was supplied only by musculocutaneous perforators in the majority of cases and that septocutaneous supply only occurred in a small percentage of cases [2-5].
