ABSTRACT
Although the Sun is the dominant body in the Solar System, containing some 99.86% of its total mass, it is just a star like others of its spectral type. The entities that make a Solar System are the planets and other bodies bound together by the Sun’s gravitational field. The most important of these other bodies, both on account of their masses and the fact that one of them is our home, are the planets.
