A-B [Adsorptions-Belebsungsverfahren, German, meaning adsorption-activation process] A two-stage *Activated Sludge process for treating sewage and industrial wastes. The rst stage (A) is highly loaded; the second (B) is low loaded. Such a system can cope with sudden changes in the quantity and quality of efuent feed. Developed in 1983 by B. Bohnke at the Technical University of Aachen and subsequently engineered by Esmil, United Kingdom.
