ABSTRACT
Students are led through a paper folding activity that explores the type of equations that are generated by a more powerful origami operation. The activity involves folding the paper and drawing points that, when connected, form strangelooking curves. Students model this process and discover that the curve generated is actually made by a cubic equation. These curves can also be generated using dynamic geometry software.
