ABSTRACT

Groups are often established for the purpose of solving problems. It might be called a meeting or some more upmarket group name such as quality circles, management teams, task forces, boards, committees, employee groups, … To advance the problem-solving process, a person, possibly called a facilitator or chairperson, is appointed. The facilitator organizes the problem-solving process, provides structure to something that can become chaotic, and where necessary focuses the group thinking.
