ABSTRACT
The first piece of technology the amateur photographer usually adds to their basic camera is a telephoto lens. (Many cameras today include a lens with some limited zoom ability as standard.) This has the effect of allowing us to get closer to our subject, for a “better look” without actually having to move. In fact, the whole of Astronomy (both optical and radio) is clearly a branch of Remote Sensing.
