- Spam, Spam, Spam, Mail, and Spam: A machine learning approach to filtering junk mail

Anybody who uses e-mail knows the problem: we are constantly bombarded by unsolicited junk mail, or “spam.” Organizations that monitor network traffic estimate that between 80% and 90% of all e-mail transmitted over the Internet is spam, most of it generated by “spambots” that blindly send out a massive number of copies of the same message.
