ABSTRACT

Special Survey Techniques are needed to capture trustworthy data relating to people bearing questionable and stigmatizing characteristics about which direct personal queries are embarrassing to try for and gather reliable data to be put to intelligent uses. The monograph by Chaudhuri and Christofides (2013) and an earlier one by Chaudhuri (2011) have given many detailed accounts of the problems along with their attempted solutions. Warner’s (1965) first publication stimulated enthusiastic research in this field to be summarized in this volume.
