ABSTRACT
In the present work, an attempt was also made to experimentally determine the uniaxial compressive strength (UCS) in the field during drilling blast holes. The Medapalli Open Cast Project (MOCP), belonging to M/S Singareni Colliery Company Limited, situated in the state of Andhra Pradesh, India, was used for the field investigations. It is situated on the northwest end of Ramagundam Coal Field and is on the southern bank of the river Godavari.
