ABSTRACT
State observation in a control system is a very important problem and has applications in many problems, such as state feedback control, fault detection and isolation, etc. In this chapter, basic LMI approaches for the design of state observers of linear systems are presented. The full-and reduced-order state observers, H∞/H2 full-order state observers, and H∞/H2 state filtering are covered.
